ULTRA - beyond exclusion: how to efficiently use non‐formal learning to foster inclusion and empower young people with limited access to civic life and self‐realisation
MAIN ELEMENTS
APPROACH
The training course will be based on the specific needs of the participants and will be highly participatory.
Diversity, eg in the group of participants, will be considered as a resource for the exchange and transfer of
competences. There will only be few frontal lectures, the main part of the training course will be delivered
in the form of practical sessions implemented by the participants in a learning‐by‐doing fashion. The
trainers will take care of creating a supportive and safe learning environment, where participants are
encouraged and coached while mastering challenges that contribute to their personal, professional and
organisational development. Special attention is paid to making the learning points of the training course
relevant, sustainable and transferable, eg by producing exhaustive documentation and by providing
templates for tailor‐made development and action plans.

CONDITIONS & ARRANGEMENTS
The training course will take place from July 8th to 16th 2011, in the surroundings of Irkutsk and
the world‐famous lake Baikal. Please bear in mind that this is located in the Eastern part of the Russian
Federation, close to Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Do thus not expect 5‐stars hotels and wifi, but be ready for
breath‐taking nature and a once‐in‐a‐lifetime opportunity to visit one of the most remote and mysterious
spots of our planet.
